Practice Time

Considering we turned the clocks back this weekend and it's getting dark even earlier, would we be interested in starting earlier than our 6:15 practice time, (say 5:45)?

If there is interest I will look into securing the practice field for a half hour earlier.

Soccerdiles Beat Parentdiles

The Soccerdiles won our inaugural kids v. parents game. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. We have practice this Tuesday at the Columbia Theology field. See you then and keep working on your passing.

Scrimmage at Columbia @ 10:10

Tomorrow let's meet at the Columbia Theology College field (that we practice on) @ 10:10 and scrimmage as we originally planned. This is optional, so don't feel you have to come, but the more the merrier. If we do not have enough kids, It might be parents against kids so wear athletic clothes.

As luck would have it, This weekend is also team pictures. I spoke (actually exchanged emails) with the commish and we can have our pictures done this weekend at Winnona Elementary (if we are all there of have them done) @ 12:30 or we can make arrangement. I eamiled the parents a greeting by the company that will be doing the photos and their price list.

We can discuss at the scrimmage if we want to head over to Winnona and have the photos done this weekend.

This Saturday- Ironing out the Details

As you are all aware this Saturday we have a bye. After speaking with parents at Tuesday's practice, there seemed to be a consensus that we would like to have an optional scrimmage Saturday morning...to keep in top form. We tentatively scheduled a scrimmage game at the Columbia Theology College Field for 10:10. I have verified that that field is available.

As luck would have it team pictures are scheduled for this Saturday at Winnona Park Elementary. I am currently working with the Commish to:

1. figure out if a field is available at Winnona Park for us to scrimmage
2. Schedule a better time than 12:30 for the Soccerdile team pictures.

I will have an update later in the day.

From the Commish:

Thank you all for being patient as I worked on finishing the schedules for the season. I posted the schedules for the season on Wed. Please make sure that you look at the schedules (again) to see what time your team plays tomorrow. I originally only allowed the first week to be viewed as I finished the rest of the season. There was a glitch in quickscore's system and the parents figured it out! When they downloaded the "unfinished" schedule to their web calendars it gave them the whole season instead of only one week. This is not the correct schedule!!! Please tell them to delete that schedule and to redo the download with the NEW schedule that I posted on Wed.

We are playing this Saturday at 9:00 at Winnona Park, field 5. We will be wearing the grey shirts. If you have not picked up your soccer uniform stop by the DDYMCA before Saturday. Wear shin pads and if you have cleats (and it continues raining) then wear them as well.

Don't Forget to Pick Up Your Uniforms

Unlike Kiddie Kickers, Jr. Micro uniforms must be picked up at the Decatur YMCA. Once you arrive, go up the first set of steps and go down the hall to the very back. There you will find boxes of uniforms arranged in alphabetical order. If you do not find yours ask for help. They willput together a bag for you.

Start of a New Season

Welcome back Soccerdiles (and parentdiles). I would especially like to welcome our new teammates, Iylan and Diana. Glad to have you join the team.

We will be practicing Tuesdays, 6:15 to 7:00 at Columbia Seminary field #2 . It is just a few blocks South (on South Columbia) from Winnona Elementary fields where we play our games.

Sat Game and Celebration

After our make up game this Saturday (10:10 on field 3), we will host a Soccerdile party at our house --894 Derrydown Way, Decatur, GA 30030. It is a couple of stones' throws from the field. I will have burgers, hot dogs and brats on the grill.

Make-Up Game and Awards

The second game of the season that was rained out has been rescheduled for 5/16. We will be playing at 10:10 on field 3. This will be our last game of the season.

I was thinking that we could host the awards (medal or trophy--I do not know which) immediately after the game at Jack's (also Terrance & Madden's) place. We live a couple of blocks from the field. I can throw some hamburgers, hotdogs and brats on the grill and weather permitting we can relax in the back yard.

Transition Goals

Picture Day

We're Back...well not me.

Soccer starts back up after a three weeks off. We have an 11:20 game on field nine (which is immediately beside the field we played our first week's game). Unfortunately I am going to be at a conference this weekend (nowhere exciting- Athens, GA--limited travel budgets and all) and am looking for someone or sometwo to help Madden coach. Let me know if you are interested.

Rained-Out Game Rescheduled

The rained out game from last weekend (March 28th) has been rescheduled for May 16th. The game time & field assignment will remain the same as it was originally scheduled.

Today's game has been canceled due to rain and field conditions. There will be a make up later in the season.

Week 01

The Soccerdiles were at full force Saturday and put on fine show. Tears were limited and goals were plenty. I think the team is poised to make a run at another undefeated season.
