The rain just started falling in Decatur and I imagine (based on how quickly the YMCA is to cancel games in the past) that todays game will be canceled. Keep an eye on the field status at http://www.ddysoccer.org/ or the weather hotline #404-687-2518.

Practice Tonight Canceled

Tonight's practice has been canceled due to field conditions. Decatur/Dekalb YMCA uses an alerting service to inform parents when fields are closed. You can sign up here, http://statusme.com/ --in addition I will continue to send out a note when I find out as well.

Schedule Posted-First Game 10:10 Saturday

The soccer schedule has been posted. I have updated the Soccerdile website with a link to the schedule. Our first game is this Saturday at 10:10. We will be the away team so we will be wearing the gray-side of the jersey. Coach Sandra and Lynzy will be coaching the team.

I will be back for our Tuesday practice and am looking forward to working with all my sharks and minnows. Have a good game and keep dribbling.

Practice Today

Soccerdiles Unite

Welcome back Soccerdiles (and parentdiles). I would especially like to welcome new teammates, Tyra and Bailey. Glad to have you join the team.

We are officially practicing Tuesdays, 5:30 to 6:15 at Columbia Seminary field #2. We will start practicing next week. I would like to apologize I did not get things together to start this week. The practice location is just a few blocks South (on South Columbia) from Winnona Elementary fields where we used to play our games.

The game schedule has not been posted yet; however, our first game is March 12. The time has yet to be determined.

Great Season

I want thank all the Soccerdiles and Parentdiles for a great season. The kids really showed a lot of progress this season and were just a great group generally. I would also like to thank everyone for the gift certificate to Mac McGee's. Between their whiskey and beer selections, I am sure that I will ind a way to enjoy the gift. Thanks again.

Sandra (Diana's mom) and Jay (Nia's dad) will be coaching a basketball team in the DDY's 6 and under league. All are welcome to join. It was a lot of fun last year.

One last thing (and this may be hard to believe but) early registration for Spring Soccer 2011 starts Nov. 15th!! Early registration fee will be a lower fee than regular registration so early birds will be rewarded this year! I am planning coaching in the spring and invite everyone to come back.
