Registration Fall Soccer 2010

This is unbelievable to me but:

Registration begins June 1, 2010 at the YMCA or on-line at www.ddy.ymcaatlanta.org

The YMCA has a NEW online registration process. Our NEW online registration allows you to easily sign up for all YMCA programming from home. If you have any questions please call Kathy Frisbey at 404-371-3314 or email at kathyf@ymcaatlanta.org.

I am planning to coach in the Fall and will be making the jump from Micro Jr. to Micro. I would love to see you join.

Winnona Park-wide garage sale=traffic problems

From the commish

FYI - there is a neighborhood wide garage sale at Winnona Park area tomorrow. This is probably going to cause even more traffic problems. Please pass this onto your parents so they are prepared. Thanks.

Awards and Party After Game Saturday

Saturday is still scheduled to be our last game (although we should have another one to make up), so I would like to propose a potluck cook out and awards ceremony at my place immediately after the game. Madden, Jack, Tommy and I live at 894 Derrydown Way, Decatur Ga 30030. It's just on the other side of South Columbia from Winnona Park.

Madden and I will prepare hotdogs, brats, and hamburgers. The other essentials for a cookout include (and I welcome additions here):

crockpot type dish/es (mac and cheese, casserole, chili, backed beans, etc)
cold salads (Potato salads, pasta salads, tossed salads, etc.)
raw vegetables or fruit (watermelon is a necessity at all cookouts)
chips and dips (salsa, 7 layer, cheese-based, guacamole, crab, onion, etc.)
dessert (cookies, pies, crisps, etc.)
beverages (beer,wine cola, juice boxes)

Feel free to volunteer for any item that matches your skill level. Someone selecting a category does not mean someone else cannot choose that same category --just make sure you are not bringing the same thing( (unless they are oatmeal raisin cookies).

P.S. Don't forget we do have a game tomorrow (Tues. @ 6:00 on our practice field).

End of season awards

Good game Saturday. As the season begins to wind down, it is time again to decide how we want to celebrate the kids' efforts: trophies($5.25), medals($3.00), or something else. Personally I am a fan of medals (they take up less room and can all hang from the same hook), but I put it before the parents for a vote. If you want to respond to me I will tally the votes and make the order. See below a note from the commish and attached an image of the trophy and medal options.

Coaches,
Just a reminder that the YMCA no longer supplies trophies or medals. It is now the responsibility of the parents. Please consult with your team as to what the parents want to do - buy a trophy, buy a medal, make certificates, or something else. I am attaching a flyer from my trophy vendor. He has come up with a trophy and medal option for the season for the league. If you would like to purchase from him please fill out the form or email him. He will deliver items to the YMCA so all you will have to do is come by and pick up your box. If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks.
